Food & Drink Paradise-Desserts Paradise

Preparing an Indonesian layer cake is not too difficult. Although you see many ingredients involved. When you summaries it, you should be able to make it. No question at all!

Are you ready?

Food And Dessert

Let's go......

Ingredients A
35g all purpose flour
1 tablespoon walnut (powdered)
1.5 teaspoon five spices powder
Preparation
Combine and sift all together.

Ingredients B
150g butter
40g cane sugar
65 ml sweet milk
Preparation
a. Melt the butter under room temperature.
b. Add sugar to the butter, and beat till fluffy.
c. Add milk and beat until creamy white.

Ingredients C
6 egg yolks
1/2 tablespoon rum
Preparation
a. Stir egg yolks into the B mixture, one at a time.
b. Lightly mix in rum.

Ingredients D
20g sugar
3 egg whites

Action
a. Beat egg whites, and sugar together until stiff.
b. Add this and the flour into the B mixture, and mix thoroughly.
c. Put in order 2 small quadrilateral baking pan, grease them.
d. Place 2 tablespoons aggregate into it, and bake in a 150°C oven, for 10 minutes.
e. Take out the baking pan, spread smoothly 1 tablespoon aggregate on top of the cake.
f. Bake in 200°C upper heat oven, until browned.
g. Repeat this process till last second layer.
h. Adjust the oven to 150°C lower heat, and bake for 15 minutes.

Note:a. You may make a bigger cake, by increasing the volume of the ingredients, when you are familiar with it. B. Some habitancy will add cocoa powder into the ingredients, and they will have an extra aroma from it.

Food and Drink Paradise - Sugar Free Desserts Challenge!

Are you looking for a new challenge? How about creating some easy and yummy sweetmeat recipes for the special diet people? Some sugar free recipes ideas will be great. A task was given to a group of new students in an cooking class. Vanessa is the organiser for this project. She told the class to sit down and start a brainstorm exercise over this topic.

After an hour, came a young lady with some wonderful sugar free sweetmeat recipes.

Food And Dessert

"Class, stay quiet!" Vanessa said to the class. "Shall we see what she has created for us?"

Boiled Custard

Ingredients

250g dates
500 ml milk
1/8 teaspoon salt
Action
a. Cut the dates into small pieces.
b. Add milk and salt.
c. Cook it in a double boiler for about 1 hour, till thick.
Coconut Pudding

Ingredients
200g desiccated coconut
250g dates
1 egg (well beaten)
500 ml milk
Action
a. Stone dates and fill a shallow pudding dish with alternate layer of coconut and dates.
b. Add egg and milk and pour this over the coconut and dates mixture.
c. Bake in 180°C oven for a nice brown.

Date Cream

Ingredients
500g whipped cream
250 ml milk
1 tablespoon gelatine
200g ground dates
Action
a. Soak gelatine in half of the milk.
b. Whip cream stiff.
c. Boil remaining milk and add gelatine.
d. Let cool, then beat till it begins to thicken.
e. Stir in whipped cream and mix well.
f. Pour into a mould and serve with whipped cream heaped around.
