World supreme Waldorf Salad

The Waldorf Hotel in New York City opened its door in 1893 and is notable as the precursor to the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, which opened in 1931. The maitre d'hotel, or dining room manager, at the customary Waldorf was named Oscar Tschirky, and he is credited for inventing three foods that are still widely enjoyed in America today. Although Tschirky never claimed to be a chef, he is notable for his Eggs Benedict, Thousand Island Dressing and Waldorf Salad.

The earliest Waldorf salads consisted only of chopped celery, cubed apples and mayonnaise served over a bed of lettuce. The method appeared in the 1896 publish of The Cook Book by 'Oscar of the Waldorf.' Chopped walnuts had been added to the mix by the time it was published in the Rector Cook Book of 1928, and was just the first of many variations the salad has undergone throughout the years.

Food And Dessert

Delicious Waldorf salad starts with high capability ingredients. Some population prefer using tart apples while others would rather use sweet. The coffee shop at the Waldorf-Astoria is named Oscar's after the clever maitre d' hotel that put the hotel, and the salad, on the map.
