Cool Down With a Summer Pool Party

The dog days of summer are here. Hot and sultry temperatures have everybody looking for ways to cool off. Invite all of your friends over to your backyard pool in order to beat the heat. Make planning a Summer Pool Party easy with these tips and ideas.

Your party invitation is the first thing your guests will see, so make it memorable. Create a flip flop or beach ball shaped invitation by using card stock. Cut into the desired shape and write the party details on the front. To truly make it stand out put a pair of sunglasses or a deflated beach ball in the package. Remind guests to bring their bathing suit and a beach towel so that they can join in the fun.

Food And Dessert

A pool party is just not unblemished without some games. Play a game of water volleyball or Marco Polo with your guests. Throw some dive sticks and time how long it takes each person to retrieve them all from the lowest of the pool. Give the winner a small prize. A water balloon toss is a great out of the pool way to stay cool.

The food that you serve should be easy to grab in in the middle of times in the pool. That means things such as pizza, chips, hot dogs and cut up vegetables. Make a sweet treat with a fruit salad. Cookies are a great and simple sweetmeat that is not likely to melt in the hot weather.

Have lots of pool floats ready to your guests. Once the games and meal are done, everybody will probably want to lounge nearby in the pool. Some floats and pool noodles are excellent for this relaxing activity. It is also a good idea to have sun block and extra towels on hand for your guests.
